Angel of the Norf is a new mural painting for the Markfield Road festival. I lived in Newcastle for many years and loved how the Angel of the North looms large over the entrance to the city. This is my own interpretation, a North London girl named Angel sprawled over Tottenham. The artwork is inspired by the women that dare to unapologetically take up space. The mural spills into the street taking over electrical boxes and lamp posts.
“It took a week to paint which in itself is performative. Young girls stopped, watched and asked questions. My hope is that I go on to inspire these young girls the way other women have inspired me. ”
