MAKE YOUR LAND MARK

MAKE YOUR (LAND) MARK

In collaboration with Produce UK I was appointed by OPDC to lead a creative wayfinding project. We created artistic landmarks for locals and visitors to explore. These were inspired by real people, with real stories that celebrate the history, people and places in Old Oak and Park Royal, to create a visual walking route that adds colour, inspiration, and help improve navigation through the local streets.

Working closely with local groups, residents and businesses, the artwork will reflect the character of specific places in Old Oak and Park Royal. The project aims to celebrate the area as a hidden gem of the city and provide the chance for local people to creatively shape their environment.

Our landmarks were located across the breath of Old Oak and Park Royal. We collaborated with youth groups, residents, local artists and local poets to create the artwork that feels of its place. We also hired 3 local landmark champions that helped create and document the project. Below is a short film our documenting champion made about the project.

Make Your Landmark and all Great Place Scheme projects form part of, In the Making, a collection of activities that Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) are delivering to shine a light on the positive changes happening now as part of this once-in-a-lifetime regeneration opportunity, delivering everyday improvements with local communities.

The Great Place Scheme has been supported by the Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
